When the project begun it was an existing eight story concrete structure, we changed its use from multistorey apartments to a hotel. Now it is a 5-star city hotel with 27 rooms and junior suites. It is in the center of Thessaloniki, on a pedestrian street. It is built above the old stone city wall of Thessaloniki built in the late 1880s, and this is listed archaeological feature. The wall trace had to be kept and shown as much as possible on the ground floor level. Therefore, the ground floor has extended glazed surfaces above the old stone wall, and it is lit at night. This way visitors can learn the local history. The old city walls are an element that was carried around the hotel rooms as well, by art means. We designed the interiors and facade. From lobby to rooms, to some custom wall lights. We carefully elected all finishes and furniture. There is a very warm feel throughout the hotel, and this was a close collaboration between architect and owner.
